About SoapAlmanac
A reference for home soap makers, written by people who make soap.
SoapAlmanac exists because the best soap-making knowledge is scattered across videos, forums and old blogs. We collect it, test it, and write it down plainly, so you can find a recipe or a fix and trust the numbers.
How we test
Every formula is checked twice. A recipe is made by its author, run through our lye calculator, then re-checked by a second maker before it's published. Pages show who tested them and how many batches.
We photograph our own batches. Stock photos are only used for supplies.
We buy what we review. Buyer's guides are based on equipment we've paid for and used. Affiliate links never decide what we recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
No medical claims. Soap cleans. We describe how ingredients feel and behave, not what they treat.
